Terms of Service

Last updated: 17 May 2026

Acceptance

By accessing or using RemitScan ("Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These Terms form a binding agreement between you and RemitScan ("we", "us"). We may update them at any time; continued use after notice constitutes acceptance.

What the Service is

RemitScan is a pan-European generation outage surveillance platform. It collects, processes, and presents data derived from public sources including ENTSO-E, ENTSOG, GIE, Elia, and REE to assist in the analysis of REMIT disclosure patterns.

The Service is designed for informational and research purposes. It is not financial, legal, or investment advice. Outputs should not be relied upon for trading, compliance, or enforcement decisions without independent verification.

Data license and attribution

Data presented and accessible via the API is derived from publicly available sources and is made available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC-BY-4.0) licence.

Required attribution when reproducing or redistributing data:

Data sourced from RemitScan (remitscan.eu) · Derived from ENTSO-E Transparency Platform, ENTSOG Transparency Platform, GIE AGSI+/ALSI+, Elia Open Data, and REE REData · CC-BY-4.0

Source data is copyright of their respective owners. ENTSO-E data is used under the ENTSO-E Transparency Platform Terms and Conditions. Upstream licence obligations apply.

API use and rate limits

The public API is free to use without registration up to the rate limit of 60 requests per minute per IP address. Exceeding this limit returns HTTP 429.

You must not:

  • Systematically scrape, mirror, or republish the full dataset without attribution.
  • Use the API to build a competing service that presents RemitScan data without following the CC-BY-4.0 licence.
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits using proxies or distributed requests.
  • Use the API in any way that violates applicable law or disrupts the Service for others.

Registered market participants may apply for higher rate limits via the access request form.

Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at legal@remitscan.eu if you suspect unauthorised access.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or are used for abusive, fraudulent, or unlawful purposes.

Disclaimers and limitations

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that the data is accurate, complete, up-to-date, or fit for any particular purpose.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from use of the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) €100. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, without prejudice to EU consumer protection rights where applicable.
